A new season. A new gathering of writers. The same commitment to writing from the wild edges of experience. Join us as we open the door on a new series of powerful, creative conversations for writers, readers, storytellers, and anyone who believes in the power of words to hold, heal, ignite and inspire.
As a disabled author and carer, equitable access is central to everything I do. The salon spaces are 100% online, inclusive, warm and prioritise self-care and comfort.
You can read our Safer Spaces Policy by clicking the link below.
To support access, all salons have live captioning enabled, and recordings are edited with captions.
Now, with support from Creative Scotland, I am also delighted to add to this and offer visual language interpretation across several salons in our 2025β26 season. (See below for BSL call out)
Letβs do this!
Kicking off the new season β¦
The most wonderful aspect of curating the salons is that I get to bring together writers whose work I feel not only stands alone as something special, but whose words, when gathered in one space, create something even more: a depth of conversation that is important, inspiring, and intuitive.
And Salon 15 is truly something special. A powerful, honest, and inspiring conversation with three extraordinary authors, all of whom have written through and beyond their breast cancer diagnosis.
Dr Liz OβRiordan, author of Under the Knife and The Cancer Roadmap
Jean Hannah Edelstein, author of Breasts: A Relatively Brief Relationship
Katy Bowser Hutson, author of Now I Lay Me Down to Fight: A Poet Writes Her Way Through Cancer.
Together, weβll explore how illness not only reshapes our lives, but also the way we write, speak, and share our stories β examining visibility, advocacy, and creative survival.
Join us for creative conversations, insightful discussions, author readings, and a warm, welcoming online space to reflect and ask questions.
Donβt miss it β and letβs kick off the new season with a wild welcome to our first authors of 2025. Tickets are limited and available on a Pay-What-You-Can basis.

BSL Interpreters Wanted
Do you want to be part of growing an accessible, feminist literary space? Are you a BSL interpreter looking to work from home online?
I am seeking BSL interpreters who align with the values and identity focus of our salons. As this is a female-centred space that often engages with sensitive subjects related to gender, the body, and lived experience, we welcome applications from interpreters who are women (including trans women) or non-binary individuals who feel comfortable and at home in such a space.
I am especially keen to hear from interpreters based in Scotland or Northern England with experience in live literary events and inclusive practice, who may also be limited by access needs (such as disability, chronic illness, caregiving, or geography) in participating in in-person events.
Each salon is a 90-minute online event on Zoom, once a month. Youβll interpret alongside another BSL interpreter and be provided prep materials beforehand. Events are intimate, unscripted, and include author readings and conversation.
Start date: ASAP β Our next salon is scheduled for June 26th!
If youβre interested or know someone who would be a great fit, please comment below to express your interest or DM us for an informal chat. Letβs make stories more accessible, together.
Subscribe
If you havenβt already done so, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription. All paid subscriptions help support the behind-the-scenes work of the Wild Women Writersβ Salons project, enabling us to bring these events to more people.
In return, you get access to monthly recordings of the events the week after they happen, plus exclusive extra author interviews, creative prompts and book recommendations from our guest authors.
Be part of the story. Be the change.
Hi Victoria, I want to gift my Mum a place at next week's salon as she's going through breast cancer and writing has helped her. However she has treatment that day and I wanted to check if there is a recording likely to be available? Thanks
